The Abolitionist Movement has re-emerged to fight against modern day slavery, otherwise known as human trafficking.
What is human trafficking?
Human trafficking is defined as:
“the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of threat, or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.”

Where can human trafficking victims be found?
Everywhere. There are more than 27 million victims world-wide, with up to as many 900,000 new victims added each year. Trafficking victims have been found in nearly every nation in the world - including the United States of America.
